Use this page to ask a question, report an outdated section, or request a topic the library doesn't yet cover. Messages go to the same review queue used for internal revisions, so nothing you send gets lost because it came from outside the office.

What to include in a message

The more specific the message, the faster it can be routed. If you are not sure which category fits, pick the closest one; mislabeled messages are easy to re-route.

Correction

Name the document and section

Include the document title and the section number so the report can be checked against the current text.

Question

Name what you were reading

Say which policy document or procedure you were working from, and where the wording left you unsure.

Request

Describe topic and reader

Describe the topic and the audience that needs it, so the request can inform what gets written next.

Applying the guidance

Questions about the guidance

If you are applying a published standard and hit an edge case the guidance does not address, say so in plain terms. Questions about how to apply a rule in a specific workplace are useful, because they tend to reveal a gap in the published standards.

A question that comes up twice from two different teams usually points at wording that needs to be rewritten rather than explained. We would rather fix the standard than answer the same question twice, so the message is logged against the document it concerns and reviewed alongside routine policy maintenance. Tell us which manual, procedure document, or clause you were reading, and describe the situation the wording did not anticipate.

Corrections and outdated content

If a clause no longer matches how the work is actually done, or if you find a link that does not resolve, report it. The report enters the review queue with the same priority as an internal revision request, and we confirm when a correction has been applied, unless you have asked us not to reply.

Worth reporting

  • A clause that no longer matches current practice in your organization
  • A cross-reference that points at the wrong section
  • A link that returns an error or lands on superseded guidance

Document and topic requests

The library grows in response to requests more than to internal planning. If your organization needs guidance on a topic the library does not cover, describe it in the message form: a specific records category, a particular approval workflow, a naming convention for a regulated form.

We cannot promise a timeline for any single request, and we do not offer bespoke drafting for individual organizations. What requests do is inform what gets written next, so a request that describes the readers and the decisions they need to make is more likely to shape the published guidance than a general note asking for more content.

Send a message to the documentation office

Messages sent through this page are handled in line with the site's privacy policy. We use the content of your message and the contact information you provide to respond, and we retain it as part of the review record. We do not sell it or share it with third parties for marketing purposes. If you want a message removed after it has been handled, ask; routine requests are honored.

What is this about?

Your message is used only to respond and to keep the review record. See the privacy policy for how it is stored.

After you send

Response times and what happens next

Messages are read in the order they arrive. Most get a reply within a few business days; reports of broken links or incorrect sections are usually triaged first. If your message requires a substantive answer, it moves out of triage and into the queue, and the reply will say so.

If you do not hear back, send a follow-up rather than assuming the message was dropped. Reply to the thread you already have and restate the document or section briefly, so the request can be matched to the earlier record without duplicating it. Corrections that change published wording are confirmed when the change goes live; questions that change nothing are still answered, and the answer often becomes a note inside the document itself.

Privacy and how your message is handled

Messages sent through this page are handled in line with the site's privacy policy. We use the content of your message and the contact information you provide to respond, and we retain it as part of the review record.

We do not sell or share your message with third parties for marketing purposes. If you want a message removed after it has been handled, ask; routine requests are honored. Requests to delete a record are handled at the same time as the correction or question that prompted it, so you do not need to send a separate message.

The office keeps the reference copies and the printed binder sets. If you would rather deliver a correction in person, bring the document title and section with you; the desk can log it into the same queue used for messages sent through this page.
